Course Description

This two day course examines the Safety Officer’s role at emergency responses. A specific focus on operations within an incident command system(ICS) as a Safety Officer is a main theme. Response to all-hazards types of situations will be emphasized.

 

Selection Criteria

Individuals who have a Safety Officer responsibility at an emergency operation situations. persons attending this course should have a working knowledge of the ICS, as taught by the the NFA, Building construction principles, Hazardous materials management, applicable NFPA guidelines, and federal regulations.

About the Instructor

Larry Haydu  is present me and assistant chief with the Clark County Fire Department, with 36 years in the Fire Service, and has served in every capacity from firefighter to chief officer. Larry has 18 years as a Fire Service Instructor, and is an Adjunct Instructor for the State of Nevada Fire Marshal as well as the College of Southern Nevada. Larry is currently a presenter for the Nevada state firefighters Association’s annual conference.
